This was my first visit to Austria. It was the time, when I just started with this travel photography thing, so I pretty much had no idea what I was doing. Plus, the camera I had back then (some really cheap point-and-shoot, with plastic lenses) didn’t really provide for beautifully taken photographs. As the result, I am not very proud of the pictures I took on that trip, and I was quite conflicted about posting them at all. But, it was pointed out to me, they can be considered a genuine historical material, showing things as they were, without any filters (literally and figuratively). You can see what people wore back then, what cars they drove, the dirty snow on the streets – all that stuff which you can almost never see in my later pictures, after I have learned how to frame a darn image. For that reason, I was told, these crummy pics have their place on this site. So, here they are. Still, try to look past the graininess, the scratches on the film and pecks of dust picked up by the scanner, the awful framing and lighting. Just imagine, you’re in Austria in 1995 and this is what you actually see. Hope it works…
